Looking Back on Sunnier Days

On this gray and rainy day, I'm thinking of sun and all the fun we had in Arizona over President's Day Weekend (and never blogged about).  I was also noticing how there haven't been any recent pictures of James in over a month.  Shame on me.

If you'll remember, we left Chicago looking like this:
(that tiny thing on the yellow sled is James)

And we went to sunny Arizona where we got to do fun stuff like:
1. Ride on a train at Schnepf Farms with Tessa

2. See the peach trees in bloom
3. Ride bikes and jump off hay bales

4. Drive our own train
5. See some baby goats

6. And cause a pig riot over a corn cob

Then Chris and I left James with my parents and drove as fast as we could north to Scottsdale for the weekend.  This was the first time we've left James overnight with someone else.  I wish I could say that it was the best weekend ever, but a couple of really uncomfortable full size beds (instead of a nice comfortable king size) and rainy cold weather put a bit of a damper on our weekend escape.  We did stay at the beautiful resort at Camelback Inn and ate a ton of good food, and got some shopping in.

We ended our trip with a visit to the Phoenix Zoo where our guide
took us to
pet the stingrays
ride the carousel with mommy
get up close and personal with some monkeys

ride a CAMEL!
see more monkeys (thank goodness for the glass)
and finish with a ride on the carousel with daddy.

Thanks for a great weekend away from the snow Mom and Dad, Kelly, Scott and Tessa!
